Kylie' Australian Aboriginal hunting boomerang throw stick. Length: 28 1/2". Width: 2". Thickness: 1/2". Used for killing kangaroos, geese, etc. Thrown sideways so it flies forward, spinning on its axis horizontally, like the blades of a helicopter. Copy of a throw stick in the Victoria Museum of Australia. Handmade by a man in Indiana, USA. Using birch aircraft laminate and recessed leaf weights to simulate the weight and heft/balance of the Acacia hardwood of the museum bound original. Ochre pain with white Aboriginal dot art. Simply for killing animals and waring with other Aboriginals in Australia for thousands of years.
